New mushroom species discovery in the Netherlands
The Dutch Mycological Societyreports that on 9 November 2013 a fungus was found in the sand dunes near IJmuiden which was new for the Netherlands.
It belonged to the Leucopaxillus genus, but it was difficult to find out which species. Very probably, it is Leucopaxillus paradoxus var. paradoxus, but more research is still needed.

Australia’s Funky Fungi
The world of fungi is vast, producing some of the most mind-bending shapes and colors in the natural world. Photographer Steve Axford catalogs much of Australia’s vast trove of fungi. Via Colossal:

You either like Austin Powers or you don’t, no middle ground here. Even if you don’t like the juvenile comedy of Gold Member or The Spy Who Shagged Me there’s always memorable characters in these classics . Fat Bastard comes to mind but my favorite is Dr. Evil and his one-eighth sized clone Mini-Me. Dr.Evil and Mini-Me are inseparable. The mushroom deformity here on this blog page is a fungal Dr Evil/Mini-Me aberration. A mini mushroom growing out of a normal mushroom. It’s actually even more than that: It’s an upside down mushroom cap growing out of the top of a normal mushroom cap with a complete mini-mushroom growing out of THAT!

Why recycle when you can feed the fungi?
Toadstool at Emerald Lake
Hi all,
Until recently I did not know the red topped toadstools were real! I always thought they were from fairytales! A friend of mine recently showed me a photo of some she had taken photos of at Emerald Lake in the Dandenongs. Well I was so excited off I went Sunday afternoon, toadstool hunting! The official name is Amanita muscaria, I like to call them fairy toadstools!
I was very pleased to find this little toadstool under the trees. No fairies were in sight though!
Cheers, Andrew

Dang Gui – Blood Cleanser
What is it?
Dang Gui, also known as Chinese Angelica Root, has been traditionally used for thousands of years as a blood tonic, most commonly for women, to help them build blood (women are much more likely to suffer from anaemia than men) as well as to help with all kinds of menstrual issues and female hormonal imbalances, often in combination with other like, like Ligusticum or White Peony.
Why’s it worth you trying?
Especially worth trying as either a blood cleanser, as part of a cleansing formula, like Cleanse. Or, if you’re a woman, and have menstrual or hormonal issues, worth trying in combination.
Pólen.
